Have at least one batch of records for each U.S. State Available for indexing at any given time.
There are only records up for right now for Virginia and New York.
More people would help with indexing if they could possibly find their ancestors along the way.
There are thousands upon thousands of unindexed image sets in the FS catalog, at the present time there are only 35 projects to work and at that rate, the unindexed image collection will never be fully indexed.
There should be more sets available to be indexed or a button to request the images be put in the queue for indexing.

It would be fun to be able to pick the state or area to index. However as this help article explains, it is not that simple to do.
FamilySearch cannot accept requests to index-specific collections.
As we continue to grow, we are eager to provide as many records on the Internet as possible. However, the process for retrieving, indexing, and publishing records can be complicated, and it may take us some time to provide certain records. Some reasons for slower processing include:
- FamilySearch does not have legal permission to publish indexes or images.
- FamilySearch lacks access to some scanned images.
- Volunteer resources are limited.
