More Information on Which Towns are Indexed in a Region
The many indexing projects are great, but their usefulness to researchers could be greatly expanded if the specific towns and regions that were indexed were identified. That is, instead of just saying "German Church Records 1500-1900," for example, it would be very helpful if somewhere it were indicated what towns (or at least regions) were indexed. This would let a researcher know if their town has already been indexed or not and help them determine whether they should continue looking and digging further (especially if a town has NOT been indexed.)
So ideally you could discover the following towns have been indexed: A, B, C, D, and E. Or, even something as simple as "half of the cities in Wurttemberg have been indexed."
Since someone puts together the indexing projects, someone must have this information.
Including this important information would make the indexing projects a more professional and valuable resource for researchers instead of just saying "we included some records from somewhere in Germany."
I have attempted to ask what towns or regions certain indexing projects included and no one I asked seemed to have any idea how to answer the question. Documenting this information in the system would preclude the need to hunt for the answer.
Thank you and keep up the great work!
