Family Search missing Ordinace Dates-14
Hello,
I have been checking some of my old Temple Cards and have found that there are dates missing from FamilySearch. I have attached 2 sets of cards and have added the ID# to the card to help make corrections in FamilySearch. Can you please check all the ordinances on the cards and update FamilySearch, so that the ordinance work does not keep getting duplicated?
Thank you, Michael Chambers

We looked at the ID’s for the individuals in the cards you attached, and most of those ordinances have already been corrected. However, we did find some problems that should be addressed and corrected, if necessary.
Alexander J. Wesley Wilson has a possible duplicate that definitely looks like a duplicate, https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/MWBY-VRN, and all of his ordinances are available including SS to the same wife with the same ID.
Also there are two duplicate children under the duplicate’s marriage to Elizabeth Blair. One of them has all ordinances available to request and the other has all of his ordinances already shared with the temple. https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/LHJZ-TK2 We can prevent a lot of duplication of ordinances by checking person pages for duplicates, by clicking Find Similar People in the Tools section, and by using Find by Name.
On John L. Payne’s page, https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/details/KVJ5-289, he is listed under another father with the name of just Payne, which is his father’s name on the temple card you attached. Since the only information there is for “Payne” is that he is the father of John L. Payne, and he was added to Family Tree as such by FamilySearch in 2012, it would be a good idea to merge him with Lindsey Payne.
There is also another son named, John Payne, listed under Lindsey Payne and Mary Driver who appears to be a duplicate of John L. Payne. He was also added to Family Tree by
FamilySearch in 2012, which means he was in the old system. https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/changelog/M34Q-1KM
And it shows he was sealed to parents in 1995, so before the 1996 date on your card. You might want to do a little investigating and decide if he is a duplicate and merge him also with John L. Payne. It’s also possible he is a duplicate of John’s brother, Jesse, whose estimated birth year is 1854. We don’t know if that will bring the parents back to the SP, but it should be done anyway before we move your case to the other category.
There is also a duplicate for John L. Payne’s sister, Mary Jane, that should be merged.
If you need help with any of these corrections please let us know. If you need them, you can find articles with instructions for merging and removing children from duplicate parent-child relationships by going to the Help Center > Family Tree and searching merging and remove child.
If there are still ordinances that are missing or that you did prior to the ones that are showing, please let us know by commenting here, and we will forward your request.
