I am an inactive member of the Church and do not know my membership number. I would like to request my Father's work be completed but I do not know his number either. All I have is that he was Baptized on 01 AUG 1971. How do I request this so other members of my family can do the work?

    Hi

Thanks for reaching out a trying to get your Father's work completed. We assume you have an account since you are using community. The account for community and family search are the same using the same username and password. But only account holders who have added their church membership number can request temple ordinances. So if you want to do that, you will first of all need to find your membership number. You can do this by contacting the bishop of the ward where you live. If you don't know your ward, you can go churchofjesuschrist.org, click on the waffle menu at the upper right (the waffle menu is the square with 9 dots). Click on meeting house locator. Enter your address and it will return your ward. You can click on the ward and it will give you the location and contact numbers. They will be able to find your membership number. Once you have your membership number, you can add it to your family search account with these instructions.

Once you have done that, you can find your dad's record and request his ordinances.

If you would rather not find your membership number, they we would suggest you contact some of your family members and have them request the ordinances.

Let us know if you have further questions.
