Is the "Perform Next" Filter working correctly? If so, what am I doing wrong?

I tried to do a search in my Shared Temple names to bring up only the initiatories that were ready to do. I went to the filters and selected "Perform Next" and then sorted by Name and Initiatory. I received the message "No reservations Found". Yet I have a separate Excel spreadsheet that I keep that tells me that I have about 40 male and 12 females who are in my temple list ready to have their initiatories done.

In addition, I tried to search for them by ID number: KC7F-2C6, L25C-PKT and GMLZ-DB9 are a few examples. Nothing comes up. I'm searching my "Shared" by those ID numbers. I can look them up in Family Tree and the ordinances show that the B and C are done and the I is next in line. What am I doing wrong? (I am using Chrome and cleared my cookies and temp files and still have the problem. Did the same search in Firefox and got the same results).

Looking at my reservation list, the Perform Next filter works just fine on the My Reservations list but, as you are seeing, brings up nothing for any ordinance when tried on the Shared List.

I would assume this is working as designed because by sharing ordinances, we have basically told the reservation system that we are not planning on doing those ordinances ourselves. Why should it present to us to do next ordinances we are not going to do?

I wonder if it would be possible, to prevent confusion, to have the Perform Next filter button dimmed and inactive when looking at the Shared list?

The solution to this if you are looking for initiatory to completed is to just filter by Initiatory on the Shared list, scan through those that have B and C completed, mark enough for one session, then unshare them, which you would need to do anyway to print cards.

According to the Knowledge Article - the feature should work the same regardless of whether you are filtering My Reservations or Shared.

I tried your workaround yesterday and it brought up those who still needed their B and C completed which made it very difficult to sort through because there were so many pages of names. Today it is working better. It only brought up those who needed their I. I think I can work with this, although the concept of the Perform Next button is a good one, it just doesn't seem to be working as described in the article.

Unfortunately the website changes so frequently that the Help Articles can lag behind quite a bit. Maybe it used to work as the article describes and they found that to be a problem or maybe the author misunderstood how it works and the article was never right.

After more experimenting I've concluded that the "Perform Next" filter only works when you are looking at your "My Reservations". It does not work when you are looking at "Shared" Reservations as described by Gordon Collett above. I was trying to find Initiatories that were ready to complete after the B and C were done, but when you sort by the I, you bring up everyone who has an I reserved even if the B and C were not complete. If you add Baptism and Confirmation to the Initiatories in your search, then you get only those who have B C and/or I reserved and you can scroll down the list looking for those individuals who just need an I. Great workaround, but it seems it would be better if the Perform Next button would work in the Shared ordinances. (I would then unshare the I's with the temple and do them myself).

I was noticing recently the perform next button not working for me consistently. In the family group I would filter and find many sealing to parents listed when perform next is selected for them, but they had not had the endowment done yet. It makes the whole experience poor as I need the ability to sort accurately in order to efficiently accomplish my name sharing goals.

It seems like this frequently happens when the previous ordinance is shared with the temple by myself or by another person whether with a blue or green requestable with clock icon. The proper behavior should be to recognize they cannot be "performed next" because the previous ordinances are not done, but they are showing under the filter apparently because they are the next available ordinance out of the ones that were moved to the list being viewed.
