The last name of Son/Sons for these people is not recognized as a name by the Family Search program. I am unable to reserve the ordinances.

    Hi @pamelaclinch

You'll need to contact FamilySearch support to get that worked out.

It's also worth noting that FamilySearch has already reserved the ordinances (I believe they just send them to the temple system to be done). However, I'm sure they would let you take them.

    Good luck!

    @pamelaclinch

    Welcome to the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum

    I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...

[ And, happen to be a Member of the Church ... ]

    I 'see' the problem/issue ...

    Just in case ...

    FYI

That is occurring; BECAUSE, the 'Word' of "Son", in a "Name", is what the "System" considers a "Reserved" (or, what you may say, a "Restricted") 'Word'; generally, NOT, 'preferred' to be used.

Here is a "Knowledge Article" in 'FamilySearch', with a non-exhaustive 'List", of such 'Words':

What words and abbreviations cause "Needs more information" to appear?

    https://www.familysearch.org/help/helpcenter/article/what-words-and-abbreviations-cause-needs-more-information-to-appear

Where it states, among other things:

    Quote

    ------------------

Certain words and symbols, if used as a name, will prevent you from reserving that ancestor's name for temple ordinances. You will see a message asking for more information.

If a sealing-to-parents or sealing-to-spouse ordinance is listed as "Needs more information," the invalid name or symbol might be in the name of a spouse or parent.

    Words to avoid

This list is not exhaustive, but it includes the terms that most commonly cause users problems. If one of the words in the list happens to be the first or last name of one of your ancestors, please contact FamilySearch Support.

    ------------------

    So ...

    That said ...

As that "Knowledge Article" advises, for the individuals/persons that you reference, you will NEED to contact 'FamilySearch' "Support' DIRECTLY to address/fix the matter(s).

And, you may even NEED, to create a separate ("Support") Case, for EACH individual/person concerned.

    Good Luck.

    I hope this helps.

    Brett
