Index of Middlesex Parish Records without record type listed
I have a batch of Middlesex Parish records from 1821 that is a yearly index of names beginning with the letter "P". There is no indication of what type of record it is (I checked all of the reference pages). The record just lists a name and a date. As it is an index of names, the date recorded could be for birth, marriage, or death. How can I proceed without knowing which one?

The record includes names and dates. I don't know if they are birth or death records or possibly something else they kept records for.

I have the same question. What kind of record is this and is it to be indexed? I have a batch from 1815 starting with letter "S".

Without seeing the batch, my advice would be to mark such records NED. Because you can't proceed on a mixed records project without choosing what type of record it is.

Please post the Shared batch code for this batch please? We cannot be confident what the answer should be without it.

I am also doing a batch of records from Middlesex, no indication of what they are, just a name and a date. Can you tell me what kind of record they are? The ID #-- UK, England, Middlesex—Parish Registers, 1539–1988 [Part B][MSPC-K8R] Thanks

I also have a batch that also is an index, not sure if it's baptisms or burials
My batch is UK, England, Middlesex—Parish Registers, 1539–1988 [Part B][MSPC-KLF]

Yes these are baptisms as well, Anita Marie Hansen.

I am indexing some baptism records. The surname is listed first, followed by the given name. Sometimes there is an initial between the surname and the given name. Should I assume it is a first name initial or a middle initial? It seems odd to have the first given name be only an initial. UK, England, Middlesex—Parish Registers, 1539–1988 [Part B][MSPC-K8R] Thank you.

You should index exactly what you see. It looks like they were tight on space. But, there are some people who go by an initial and a middle name, such as M. Russell Ballard, D. Todd Christofferson, S. Gifford Nielsen and many others.
