    Hello @Ray Eggleston

This is an unfortunate situation and my heart goes out to you.

Because your wife is now deceased, for Temple Policy you are now not considered, for temple purposes, to not be related to your brother-in-law.

I am going to assume that Alexander did not marry or have children and that he only had one sibling ie your wife, so he does not have close relatives who are living.

Because you are now "not related" you would have to get a signed permission letter from a close relative. if there is no close relative you would not be granted the reservation. (See the second article below "If your deceased friend has no close living relatives that can provide written permission, then a request cannot be granted. ")

However the nephew is a relative of Alexander, so he would be able to request permission. He would state that there are no close relatives, namely no spouse, no children, no siblings and no parents alive. His request could be considered.

    So sorry.
