Individual help on temple ordinances? Where do I go now?

The "Help center" used to have a list of tickets that I could track each case as I asked questions and received answers.

I could also click on "help" and then select "temple" to get issues with ordinances cleared up and fixed.

How do I contact support for help on an individual ordinance question or issue?

Now it seems there is only a big "community" to ask questions from other users? This does NOT help as users on a community "forum" group don't have access to the ordinance info or ability to correct errors or resolve issues.

I have ran across many instances where it would show "ordinances not available" and I could contact support through the system or an email and receive an answer to get temple work completed.

Sometimes this was due to some type of system error or other issue and then I could reserve ordinances, or complete them as needed.

Where is this option now located and how would I go about getting similar help?

This is one example:

Hello @atom8 thanks for bringing this up. You can still post any issue you have about your family tree here in the community and FamilySearch Missionaries and Staff will take care of them most especially Ordinance issues and other cases that the community members may not be able to help out.

Unfortunately the ability to view your past cases has gone away with the change in support to Communities. You should receive emails whenever an answer is provided in response to your post in the Communities. You can also bookmark the question by clicking on the bookmark button on the top right of your post. It looks like this:

    image.png

To find your bookmarks, click on "My Feeds" on the left of the Communities page. On the right of the screen that comes up you will find a link to "My Bookmarks"

To get help with temple related issues, you can click on Q and A in Communities and then select the Temple category. If your question needs to be escalated for an issue you will be notified. A message of "Ordinances Not Available" would require escalation just as it did in the past.

You might want to create a new post in the Temple Category for Andrew Jackson Houston, M89X-YVR, and see how it works for you. (We do realize this post was posted to the Temple Category, but since the Ordinances not Available for Andrew Jackson Houston was not the primary reason for the post, and only an example, it might be best to start a new one rather than escalate this case).

Why would you write me an email in spanish, when I wrote the post in English? Also, the answer isn't relevant as this has nothing to do with my ward clerk or a close family member? If you look at the PID of the person I was asking about you'd see that as well.

    @atom8

    FYI

    I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...

[ And, I happen to be a Member of the Church ... ]

    Just in passing ...

    Your Question:

Why would you write me an email in spanish, when I wrote the post in English?

    Short Answer:

BECAUSE, like 'FamilySearch', this Forum, is participated in, by Users/Patrons, from all around the World.

Sometime, Participants respond in the Language of the post.

Whereas, sometimes, Participants respond in their "Native" Language, rather that the Language of the post.

Further still, sometimes, Participants respond in BOTH, the Language of the post; and, their "Native" Language, using a "Translation" Programme/Application.

Basically, we get the BEST of BOTH Worlds.

    And ...

    People make MISTAKES ...

    It happens.

NONE of us are PERFECT ...

Not EVERYONE, is TOTALLY "Experienced" ...

[ Everyone, it at different "Levels"; but, everyone, likes; and, tries, to help/assist ... ]

    Furthermore ...

Please be, aware and advised, that ...

This "Community.FamilySearch" Forum, was originally established, a number of Years ago, of the premise of:

    Users/Patrons, HELPING / ASSISTING, Users/Patrons ...

And, this "Community.FamilySearch" Forum, has been operating, quite successfully, for all those Years.

But, due, to the unfortunate recent 'Demise', of the 'FamilySearch' "Support" Case Management System, early LAST Year; and, with NO immediate alternative (ie. "System"), the 'FamilySearch' "Support" (Personnel), were basically "Moved", 'holus-bolus' (ie. Included), into the MIX of, this "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.

NOW, this "Community.FamilySearch" Forum, is a mix, of BOTH, Users/Patrons; and, 'FamilySearch' "Support" (Personnel), helping/assisting, Users/Patrons.

So, this "Community.FamilySearch" Forum, is even MORE, robust; and, helpful, that it ever was.

The "Community.FamilySearch" Forum just takes a bit to get used to ...

And, the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum, is, everchanging; and, evolving ...

    Just my thoughts.

    Brett
