My brother did his temple work while he was living. Now I see that his work is being done by proxy

He received his endowment in 1974 he was married civilly and passed away getting ready to go to the temple to be sealed. He was born April 21 1952 and died on August 24 1975. If some one can help to fix this confusion it will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

    Hello @eliasperez1

I suspect that the Church Membership department has not been notified of your brother's death.

Once Membership have updated his death on the church membership records, another record for your brother will appear in FamilySearch which will show the ordinances which your brother already completed. The duplicate records for your brother can be merged and the remaining ordinances can then be requested.

The Church Membership department require proof of his death before they can update their records.

Proof of death could be a civil registration index or death certificate, funeral program, photo of grave, obituary etc. This can be attached to the record for your brother that you see in FamilySearch or attached to a post here.

As NormJones said above, if you could let us know the name and ID of your brother in FamilySearch we can escalate your request to a Specialist team who can contact the Membership Department for you.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Good Evening, Elias, I would suggest that you contact FamilySearch.org, by clicking on the

    image.png

that is located at the top of the page. From here click on Contact Us and then choose whichever area that you live in. FamilySearch should then be able to help you to locate your brothers ordinance information and possibly update his ordinances on FamlySearch, as well as let you reserve them instead of someone else. Hope that this helps.
