Ancestor possibly sealed to wrong set of parents

I have an ancestor who shows he was sealed to his parents, (obviously, by someone other than me) however there is no birth record indicating these are the correct set of parents. I have located information showing two sets of parents each had a son of the same name, around the same time, in the same township in New York State. I have been unable to identify which set of parents actually belong to this ancestor. I would appreciate any direction on how to proceed if I find that he was in fact sealed to the wrong set of parents. Thank you!
