If a search linker row has a yield sign detach icon, then you need the identifier in order to proceed what the implied duplicate merge by ID.

Still need to know how to add tags.

You get the ID by hovering over the Detach link:

You can copy the ID either by clicking on the ID which takes you to that person's detail page where you can easily copy it, or you can carefully click next to it and drag your cursor over it to highlight it then use your browser's copy command or keyboard copy command to copy it:

It would be nice if this were easier.

Wrong PID. In the same row as the icon, in the right hand cell, is a PID. There is no copy assist, so it must be highlighted and copied.

The PID link in the icon popup is nice, but it should be on same line for readability.

    Ah! You meant this one:

The source linker page is pretty old, hasn't been reworked in a long time so it does still use the oldest form for copying the ID, that is triple left click then right click and copy.

I assume that when FamilySearch gets to updating this page, they will jump right to having the ID in a grey oval that can just be clicked to copy as occurs on the newest pages. I also would assume this is already in the works. It will be interesting to see if the Source Linker page gets updated before or after the Details page.

    Great answer.

Prognostication is unnecessary, and detracts from value of overall response.

    But it’s fun!
