Question re marriage & ordinance
A 2nd cousin 2x removed died without marrying see KWV5-QTG. Her death certificate indicates that she was single yet she is showing as being married. Her "spouse" also died without marrying. However, they have been sealed to each other. She was only 10 when he died at age 16 and 17 when she died so there probably was no engagement. A grand uncle of mine had the same situation. Our family story on him is that after he and this distant cousin to whom he is sealed to died, both his and the girl's parents got permission to have them sealed to each other. This has been verified that the families got permission from the church to have it done. I have put in notes in both of their records so that this relationship is not deleted. But in the case of KWV5-QTG (while they are distantly related through the same line) I have no family story or anything to base that it is the same case or not so am just assuming the same thing with her. Apparently, this was a common practice in this time period. Do I go ahead and put in remarks explaining it so that someone doesn't delete KWV5-QTG relationship with her "spouse"?
Since the only thing I have on PID KWV5-QTG is the sealing date to connect them, I am just not sure how to explain why they are connected to each other without going into details that a non member shouldn't know but then wouldn't delete the relationship. If I don't do something and the relationship gets deleted, it may be hard to ever get them back together on the system. I have even stumped family history missionaries on this one little lone my ward consultants.

Hello @Janet Despain Carlson
This knowledge article explains your situation....
https://www.familysearch.org/help/helpcenter/article/sealing-only-relationships
In the above article it explains that these sealing-only relationships do not need to be recorded in Family Tree.
If the relationship is deleted from Family Tree the sealing to spouse information will no longer show but the record of the sealing is still preserved in the temple records.
All the best
