I am just another 'lowly' User/Patron ...
Becoming a "Registered" User/Patron, of 'FamilySearch', DOES NOT, entitle/give one FREE access to, "Ancestry_com"; or, the like, from one's 'Home'.
NORMALLY ...
FREE access to, "Ancestry_com"; and, a number of other such "Websites", is available through, the MANY, "Family History Centres" of the Church, all around the work, to Users/Patrons attending those Centres.
Unfortunately, currently, for a short time ...
That FREE access to, , "Ancestry_com"; and, a number of other such "Websites", that is normally available through, the "Family History Centres" of the Church, is TEMPORARILY "Unavailable" for a period of time.
The TEMPORARILY "Unavailability", commenced on about 2 June (2020); and, may last up to x90 Days, for ESSENTIAL Planned (system-wide) Maintenance; and, updates, for the 'Portal' for the "Family History Centres".
Hopefully, after that, all will be back to normal.
Plus ...
Here are some "Knowledge Articles" in 'FamilySearch'.
