After her death , my sister-in-laws record has not appeared in FamilyTree.

My sister-in-law is a member. She passed away 15 May 2021. She no longer appears in Member Tools, so that leads me to believe that her ward clerk has processed her death information; but her record created by the church has not appeared in FamilyTree. We want to merge the record we created into the official church record but cannot as the latter does not exist. We have tried searching by name and also Search For Duplicates, but with no success.

The record we created in FamilyTree is:

Diana Rose Brandle ID#GZZL-P5W

she is attached to her deceased father and mother

we have attached 3 sources to this record.

From the stake we have found:

Church Membership #: 000-3459-9452

Baptized: 6 Oct 1956

Confirmed: 7 Oct 1956

I understand that after a death, it may take 2-3 weeks for the church membership department to process it. It has now been 6 weeks.

I have called the FamilyTree helpline, but they could not find the problem and suggested that I submit my question here.

Suggestions?

Do you know if the Ward Clerk entered the death on the system? Ordinances will not show for members if the death is entered by an individual. You may also need to merge your record with the member record on FamilySearch

If you do not find a record of a deceased individual, it is likely that the ward or branch clerk has not yet added a death date to the person's Church membership record.

    1. Reserve the family name to prevent duplication if the member completed ordinances in life.
    2. Contact the ward or branch clerk, where possible, and provide any needed information so he can update the membership record.
    3. Your ward or branch clerk can update the official Church membership record when you provide proof of death. Examples are below:
      • Death certificate
      • Obituary
      • Funeral program
      • Other official death notice
      • Note: The ward or branch clerk needs to add the death date to the membership record of a deceased member before the official membership record for the individual appears in Family Tree.

Your question will be forwarded to a specialty team for review and resolution. You may be contacted by that team if they need to gather more information.
