query about people who cannot have ordinances requested
I am actually a little put out. Today as I was working there were several people who could not have missing ordinances requested- parents were okay and some of the siblings but a couple were not. It was NOT as if NONE of the ordinances could be requested it was missing a few here or a few there. 6-7 were Sealing to Parents. The older siblings were sealed to parents but not the last 4-5-- In each case there were names, dates, and places.
I sent in a question
Very quickly I got a return email-- A big fat 6" cartoon face with crossed out eyes and a simple statement- You cannot request the ordinances. The face is an embarrassment to Family Search- totally unprofessional.
The comment was actually my question- simply not an answer at all. I am most disappointed- no reason- no ''you have to wait" no explanation of what I need to do to remedy these people not receiving their ordinances.
I have NEVER HAD CAUSE to be treated this way by Family Search.

I am sorry that you were treated this way by FamilySearch. This is a standard "computer says no", I am sure this response needs to be addressed.
I am sure that this is not the way we were taught as missionaries for FamilySearch Support. It is not good, but this will be brought up in our meetings to avoid such unfriendly response. It has not been the purpose of FamilySearch as we are taught the ideals of our mission.
I am going to post this to the admins and for the engineers to address.

Please do --because as a member trying to find missing ordinances to bind families together such a clownish disrespectful image is NOT in keeping with the importance of this eternal work.
As a temple and family history consultant I would be mortified if someone received this that I was helping.
As the Stake temple and family history person I can find NO Way that this was professional or in keeping with this sacred and very important work.
I was simply asking if Family Search could release or look at a series of people each one having some ordinances done and some ordinances still needed. In the past I would receive an email back that said I could now request the ordinances or an email with articles to explain the situation. The thing is that in each case there was a name, several dates and places- the usual information needed to request ordinances. I could NOT see a reason why they were restricted from requesting an ordinance so the when I received the clownish huge face with x's for eyes-- was that an attempt at humor ? if so- Completely in appropriate. The words written were" You don't have permission to do that" simply is NOT an explanation. It does not tell -me how I can go about helping these ancestors......
This person needs to be removed from 'temple ordinances' or cautioned or ???

Susan,
I am so sorry you had this experience. I cannot imagine any of the missionaries I work with being so flippant about this important work.
I would suggest that you post your question on the Temple Work and My Family Group page and see if you can get a definitive answer. Based on your description I cannot think why these names cannot be cleared for sealing to parents unless the source of the information cannot be verified. If that is the case, a simple explanation would have been appropriate.
Again, I apologize for your negative experience and hope this group can help you out.
