    When you change the vital information, please write a clear reason for the change, and, if possible, state where the information comes from, such as the title of a document, or that you know because you are related, or something similar. That information shows if someone else presses the Edit button, and may reduce unwanted changes. Also try to choose a standardized place name. See the link below:

    most items in family tree - have an edit link next to each event (birth, death etc)

    simply click the edit link and make the change.


    (this assumes you are referring to Family Tree.

    Please clarify what specifically you were trying to change.
