You probably should call your local temple to ask that question. It is different in each temple.

@gasmodels . Thanks for the suggestion- a friend of mine is going to the temple today and she is going to ask them. I was really trying to see what kinds of questions would get what kinds of answers from the "communities" in general.

Mostly a sealing session lasts an hour. The sealer selects from the names provided for which ones to do and in what order. Sometimes, a particular sealing to parents card or sealing spouses card can be requested for a guest to be proxy.
