What happened to "My Cases"; now how do I address a "Restricted Memory"?

I added a Memory on June 18. It was flagged as "Restricted". It was a letter and the stationary had a small "cherub" on it. It tells me it will be deleted in 30 days and I will received an email telling me how to work it, but I have received no email. I used to enter a case, but when I clicked on "Contact Us" where I used to be able to enter a case and also see the history of all my previous cases, it now just shows Telephone Numbers for various countries. I called the United States and the missionary told me that FamilySearch is getting rid of the system that had the cases and everything now needs to be done using "Community".

Does anyone know how I can report the cherub on the stationary and see if it can my memory can be approved to stay out there?

Thank you,

Paul J Farnsworth

We recently added a photo of the cover of a 150 year old family Bible. It was also flagged "Restricted." The cover had a picture of a cross on it. My daughter edited the picture with a Photoshop type of tool by removing the horizontal portion of the cross. It was accepted after that. Good Luck!

If you did not receive an email for a restricted memory; please resubmit the memory. FamilySearch receives thousands of memories each day. To cope with the onslaught FamilySearch uses computers to review the memories. To have your memories reviewed by a person you must reply to the email sent. Check your spam/junk file, too.

The digital robot thing that views anything added to MEMORIES is totally wacked. You can't add Halloween, hunting, swimming, wedding, etc into Memories. On occasion you can't even add documents, especially if it contains a SSN. Or attaching something along with a statement & url stating that the item is no longer copyrighted. Or anything with a religious symbol (considering some records come from religious certificates). This digital robot thing has been set way too sensitive. Then there is not a real person to contact who can actually view it. This needs to be fixed. Really fixed by either fixing the robot or getting us a real person to view it. I also don't get emails from the robot. Why can't the things that the robot restricts be always then viewed by a real person? It is stressful enough to go to all the work of gathering, improving, getting permission, making PDFs or jpgs, etc. I am frustrated 😕 not being able to add some of my family's memories. I also greatly miss "My Cases".

Getting around a Restricted Memory is actually much easier than many people realize

assuming the item really is ok and doesn't have offensive info etc.

simply REPLY to the corresponding email that you will get

and you don't even need to tell them a long story

IN fact all you need, in most cases is THREE words.

simply reply to the email with the words "RESTRICTED IN ERROR" and 9 times out of 10 they will unrestrict it without any further discussion.
