How do I create a group

I am the lead TFH in my ward and would like to create a ward discussion group (private). Is there a way for me to do this?

I am just another 'lowly' Participant in the "Community.FamilySearch' Forum.

FYI

Short Answer: There has, been; and, is, a "Hold" on the "Creation" of NEW 'Groups' in the Forum.

That "Hold" commenced in that latter part of last Year (2020).

Initially the reason suggested was the "Change-Over" of the "Administrators" of the Forum.

Since, that "Hold" was prolonged, a subsequent reason suggested was the "Change-Over" of the Forum to the NEW Platform.

I would humbly suggest that, due to:

▬ The ongoing 'status' of the NEW Platform (ie. still working out some things ... ); and,

▬ A BACKLOG of REQUESTS for NEW 'Groups', dating back to the latter part of last year (2020)

that, the "Creation" of NEW 'Groups' would, either,

▬ STILL be on HOLD; or,

▬ Subject to an EXTENSIVE "Backlog".

I know; as, I requested the "Creation" of a NEW 'Group' in the Forum, way back in the latter part of last Year (2020); and, have subsequently done so in the various LATER "Iterations" of the medium to request a new group; but, as yet, to no avail, that group has not been created.

Honestly, I believe/suggest it is just a matter of 'Waiting" ...

Provided that the Forum accepts and agrees for the need for a NEW 'Group', such as you requested; then, it is likely that that new group WILL eventually be created - it is just a matter of WHEN (ie. 'Time').

Plus, there was also been recent advice that, Training Materials are in the process of being Developed that will help ensure that Group Leaders will have the resources to effectively manage their Groups.

Just my thoughts.

Regarding creating our own ward private group:

You can submit a request for a group by using the form mentioned on this link:

We do have a few wards that are using Community groups.

@DebDT No that was not there the first time I checked. I just clicked the form link again and clicked on the Request edit button. Thanks for letting me know that!
