Exact Person Search

I was trying to do a search of the books on the website, but the ones that came up were almost all protected, so I couldn't see if they had the information I needed. The ones that weren't, didn't contain a listing for the specific person I was searching for, which was Major-General Pavel Nikolaevich Veselovsky. There needs to be a way to filter search results, so that the exact name being searched for is the only one that comes up in the results.

    Hi!

You might get the best answer by posting this in the Q and A under Search.

We'll get better at knowing where to post over time!

It appears to me that the Digital Library is given extremely low priority by Family Search, so I would be surprised if you get any response from FamilySearch.

In 2019 there was supposed to be a team to consider improvements to the Digital Library. I did not get a single reply to a query I made in April 2021 trying to find out whether there was still a team working on improvements . I can only conclude this team must have been disbanded as no improvements that I could see have been made since that date.

My April 2021 query was "Request for improvements to the FamilySearch Digital Library" https://community.familysearch.org/en/discussion/83579/request-for-improvements-to-the-familysearch-digital-library

in which I cross referenced https://community.familysearch.org/en/discussion/comment/88517/#Comment_88517 dated September 2019.

One of the things I asked for was an Advanced Search "The advanced search to have the ability for to look for PHRASES OR WORDS in the text. Typically (but not always) these will be names, so have the options to search for variant spelling, similar sounding words, using wildcards - whatever is in place for searching for names in the Historical records ( including names that may not be regarded as variants by some people such as Macgregor, McGregor and M’Gregor). Cater for non English word with different accents."

I tried to gather cross reference requests other people made, but I now believe there is no interest within FamilySeach to make improvement to the Digital Library.
