Without being able to see the reference images, it is hard to say, but, these usually are the page numbers. To open the reference images, click on the bottom icon in the vertical toolbar on the image window. If the previous image has 1904 and 1905, and the next image has 1908 and 1909, then you will know they are page numbers.
If they are not page numbers, then you would index the most recent year. When there is a date range, we index the most recent date, except in the case of birth records, when we index the earliest date.
Here is a knowledge article on indexing dates: https://www.familysearch.org/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-index-dates

Olá Terry,
Os anos( 1749 à 1900). indicam o período dos registros.
Você deve indexar, o ano que consta nos documentos( batismo, casamento, óbitos, entre outros),
Sucesso.

Obrigada,
Yes, I see that the years for the project are between 1749-1900.
I'm sorry I wasn't more clear... On the document for this specific image in my batch it has 2 years- 1906 printed on the left page of the business directory/side of the photo and 1907 printed on the right page of the business directory/side of the photo.
The person who indexed this batch marked all the years blank. I think that it should be at least one year or the other- I would guess the earlier year, but I'd like confirmation ;)

I would index 1907. This information is from a link in the Project Instructions/General Indexing Guidelines:

Hi @Terry, Natalie . To know for sure, please check the reference images (adjacent images on the left and right of your batch image), as @Melissa S Himes suggested. Click on the 4th (last) icon in the little vertical toolbar on the left. For instance, look at the -1 image (the one just to the left of your batch image). If you see 1904 and 1905 on the top of first and second pages of that image, then you know that those numbers 1906 and 1907 on your batch image are just continuing page numbers and not dates - meaning that the Directory Date Field should be Blanked. Most unfortunately, only you can see your reference images. Folks looking at your shared batch cannot see your reference images.

Thank you to everyone!
Yes, I double-checked and those are page numbers. I didn't even think about checking the pages before/after.
But, it's also good to know the general rule about if there really are two dates, to use the more recent year, except in birth certificates. Even though I've been Indexing/Reviewing for years, there are things I haven't come across and am learning new things all the time. Thank you for that link to the general rules about dates.
