Restricted Records Available at Affiliates

At the Tech Talk this month one slide contained this information:

Affiliate Libraries will not be affected by this critical maintenance and update process.

I had apparently not fully realized this. So this is a good alternative for patrons than the FHL Look Up service.

    There are still records that Affiliate libraries cannot access that can be accessed at a Family History Center once the Restricted Records are available again. But for now Affiliates will have more access than FHCs.

    ​The Family History Library staff in Salt Lake City, Utah, will have the ability to search limited access collections during this period and can offer patron assistance. To learn more about this option, patrons should explore the free virtual consultations and free records look-up services .
