New Community Leader Intro
Hi! As a new Community Leader for the Welcome to Texas Ya'll page I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Summer Owens, and as the saying goes, "I wasn't born in Texas but I got here as fast as I could." I've lived in Austin for 8 years now and absolutely love it. I've been married for twenty years, have four children, two pups, and 25 years of genealogical research experience. Funny thing though, my ancestors have lived in nearly every U. S. state, except Texas, but I've been learning about the resources available for others researching in this great state.
I run an ad-free, not for profit blog where I post identified photos and ephemera that I find at antique stores. You can always search there for surnames of interest to see if anything related to your family pops up: allboundtogether.blogspot.com
In addition to raising my family and regular genealogy research, I love to crochet, play the piano, woodwork, photograph wildlife, write poetry, and learn new things. I look forward to posting resources for research and tidbits of Texas history that will hopefully assist you in your search.

I retired to Texas in 2014. I thought I had no ancestors here, but since moving here I have found many other branches of my tree have descendants that have moved to Texas. You are probably more connected to Texas than you think.
