I've been doing family search for 20 years and now and then encounter a family that is not connected to my tree. But I want to start a new tree for this family. Is there a way to start a new tree in family search?
And make sure you record the ID numbers for someone in the family...otherwise you'll have to use the Find feature to find them later. When they're not related, they don't show automatically.
You can add individuals who are not connected to your family line.
Please click on the following link for the article located in the Help Center. This will give detailed instructions on how to add an unconnected person not related to your family:
Tip: When you add an unconnected person, it is helpful to record the ID number of the new record for future reference.
.. the article is lightly outdated und mixes living and dead ... In the meantime we do have "that statistics and other stuff section" in the tree where you do find all the living profiles for reviewing later and also the profiles you ever touched ... you can even filter them by name etc.
More important (as I feel) is at least one good source to (load up into the memories and) connect ..
.. and I would only use it with deceased people ..
I never felt the necessity to record ID-Numbers of those well documented profiles that are not part of my own ancestry ..
And in the meantime we do have "that statistics and other stuff section" in the tree where you do find all the living profiles for reviewing later and also the profiles you ever touched ... you can even filter them by name etc.
thank you all for your help. (I LOVE THIS)
There is ..
But be sure you have a good source with more information than just the name of just one person to not create duplicates and to add the source to those newly created persons data ..
Hopefully you´re able to "read" german pictures ..
