Expiring Batch Notification

I just spent a lot of time on a difficult batch. I finished it yesterday and tonight I went to do a quality check before sending it in. I found it was returned 41 minutes before I signed on. I try very hard to make sure the batches are accurate, e.g. keep paper notes of names I am trying to decipher, and all that work is wasted. This is not the first time this is happening and is very frustrating. I looked yesterday because i wasn't sure how much time I had. Perhaps if you could notify us via email or text if you are going to take the batch.

I agree @BettsWilliamFox1 An email or text with a warning 24 hrs ahead of time and possibly the option to “renew” for 2-3 extra days would be very helpful. My library does that with ebooks that I check out, and I appreciate it. Even a countdown timer in a prominent location next to the individual batch would work pretty well in this regard.

The only good news, and it isn’t much comfort I know, is that your work was not wasted - it went to another Indexer to be completed and submitted. Hopefully that person is as meticulous as you.
