Please excuse me if I misunderstand here, but I am going to rephrase your question into what I think you are really asking and then answer my version of your question.
"I have a child within a family that is married. I would like to attach that child's spouse and the spouse's family to my tree. Is it possible?"
Not only is it possible, that is exactly what you should do.
In Family Tree, the intent is to have one, single, huge tree that covers the entire human family. You don't really have a "my tree" here. You just have the same tree that we all see and are all working on together. Actually it is not even a tree. It is a gigantic, tangled, interconnected net.
So go ahead and first try to find the spouse in Family Tree to add to that child as the spouse. If he or she is not already there, then create him or her as a new individual in Family Tree, adding that individual as that child's spouse. Then feel free to identify the spouse's parents, siblings, grandparents, aunts and uncles, as many as you would like to research and document. At some point, you are going to find some of those extended family members already in Family Tree and will be able to connect them into the research you have been doing.

You can add it as an Alternate Name in the Other Information section of that individual's page. The main, displayed name should remain as the birth name, not be altered to the married name.
