One record spanning multiple images question
I am working on a Rhodesia - Voter Registration batch. The general guidelines tell us to index all information spanning multiple images. It does not make it clear, though, whether to put all the info on one Entry or to split the information on both Entries according to what's on the images.
For example, let's say that Image 1 show the individual's name only. Image 2 shows the date of birth only.
Do I put both the name and the date of birth in my Entry 1 (image 1) only, and then mark Entry 2 (image 2) completely blank? Or do I put just the name on Entry 1 and just the date on Entry 2, effectively splitting the info on two Entries?
(for simplicity's sake, let's assume we're not dealing with the first image or last image on the batch)

When a record spans two images you index all the information on the first image (the name and birth date) and mark the second image No, No Extractable Data in Step 1: Images. To go back to Step 1: Images, Click on Step 2: Entries and Toggle back to Step 1.
You are correct. That general indexing guidelines need to be expanded with a few more sentences.

I guess that work as a solution, but very confusing. Hopefully the programmers are working on this. A simple option to allow a following image to be a part of Entry #1 would be so much more straight forward IMO.

The "following image" is part of Entry #1 and then the next image marked No, No Extractable Data (NED).
All of that other possibly "confusing" stuff about going back and forth between Step 1 and 2 was because in the batch, it needed to be marked NED in Step 1.

This has been an instruction for at least 7 years. I don't think programmers will be working on changing it.

My tip is to open the 'reference images' , it's the icon of an open book, under the +, - and tools icon: top left side.
It helps me tremendously with 'viewing' multi-pages for one voter's registration. Its easy to see a person's voting pages for that one year. It took me a few goes to learn how it works, but a very helpful tool to use.
Remember the golden rule - one image that you capture = one person's year from the Voter Roll (which could be on one main starting page or across 4/more pages).
Always capture your index card and link it to the first page on the Voter Roll, for a person per year.
