Obituary Indexing - Other individuals
One obituary provides names and ranks of pallbearers. The instructions indicated to index all names. According to that the names and ranks ( military honor guard) would be included. Is that what is wanted?
Additionally, the name of the individual conducting the services is listed, According to the instructions that person and title should also be included. Correct?

Correct. Since pallbearers often do not have a relationship listed with their names they are indexed as Non-Relatives as would be the names of all others. Sometimes you might see an obit that lists the pallbearers and will identify them as children, grandchildren, etc - but, not too often.
On your other question about the dates - I have asked what to do about these and am waiting for guidance. I think that the year could be used. But, since it isn't a death date, and there is no instruction for indexing the most recent date, I am on hold with this project. I love obit indexing, but, I also want to be correct.
