Translation Needed and Verification Within Index
I am looking to have a translation of the image found at
https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CSJG-T94W-Y?i=324&cc=4111605&cat=92808
, specifically the entry marked 86, starting with Die 1 Augusti.
Also I noticed that there are 2 entries in the index: one for Laurentium and one for Joannem. Are there really 2 people in this entry or only one.
The father’s surname in the entry is different than in the index. Is the surname in the entry an abbreviated form of the surname?

''Yep' ...
That is it ... 'wait' and 'see' ...
You have to be aware that, this change to a NEW "Platform", for the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum, has 'throw everyone for six' ...
Some of the regular participants have, either, left; or, are, 'still trying to get a hold on things' ...
The OLD "Platform", for the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum, was MUCH more, BOTH, "User Friendly"; and, "Intuitive"; plus, NOT to mention, the ability, to SIMPLY ,"Tag" the 'Questions', INTO the various 'Groups', on mass, in one go.
As far as I was aware, the OLD "Platform", for the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum, was 'getting on' (ie. becoming 'outdated'); and, did not have some "Management" 'Tools', that the Management of the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum, wanted.
This is too bad; as, it would have been much better to have the "Management" 'Tools', that the Management of the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum, wanted, ADD to the OLD "Platform", for the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum, if that were possible, rather than the NEW "Platform" that we have now - well, at least, until the latter was MUCH more, BOTH, "User Friendly"; and, "Intuitive".
By the way ...
In the OLD "Platform", for the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum, I often saw QUICKER 'Answers'/'Responses' (ie. 'Translations') in the 'Group' being "𝐅𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 - 𝐃𝐞𝐮𝐭𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐬𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐠" [ 'German' speaking ]; and, where the 'Answers'/'Responses' were in 'English'.
IF, you have not; THEN, I would ALSO post your "Request" for assistance (ie. 'Translation'), in that 'Group', as well ...
Nothing to loose ...
Nothing ventured, nothing gained ...
Good Luck.

Hello @fantarctic
In the Q and A tab, you will find "Indexing" but that is the Help Center and is not managed by the Indexing Chat group. However, our group is linked there on a the main page as a resource.
Try putting your question in the Indexing Chat. You will need to join.

Thanks for the information. I have only used the previous version of the Community Group and things have changed so I may not have fully comprehended the new manner of asking questions. Can you clarify for me where to ask my question?
My main objective with this questions was to obtain a translation for the entry.
The index information was just an observation. I can pursue this after I get the translation.
In order to get an answer for the translation, do I need to submit a new question dealing only with the request for translation? If so, can I delete my original submission?

FYI
You DO NOT need to "Delete" this post, just leave it as is.
But ...
That said ...
Here are two (x2) of the 'Groups' in this "Community.FamilySearch" Forum, where I suggest that post a copy of this post (ie. your original 'Question'); as, we can no longer "Tag" these 'Questions' in the 'Groups'; plus, NOW, you MUST (ie. NEED) to "Join" (ie. become a member of) a 'Group'; whereas, before, you did not need to do so - to, view; post; or, have you posts "Tagged" into:
They are in the 'Group' part of this NEW Platform for this Forum ...
Home › Groups › ...
𝐆𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐧𝐲 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲
https://community.familysearch.org/en/group/88-germany-genealogy-research
𝐅𝐚𝐦𝐢𝐥𝐲𝐒𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 – 𝐃𝐞𝐮𝐭𝐬𝐜𝐡𝐬𝐩𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐡𝐢𝐠
[ 'German' speaking; but, you will get responses in 'English' ... ]
https://community.familysearch.org/en/group/71-familysearch-deutschsprachig
In the hope that members of those 'Groups' may be able to help.

If you post in both groups mentioned by Brett above I think you should cross reference that you are posting in both groups, otherwise TWO people may spend time and effort translating your record, unaware that someone in the other group has answered.

Good point.
I should have included such, in my 'Answer'.
It was great, when we were able to "Tag" a ''Question', in a number of DIFFERENT 'Groups'; and, the members of those 'Groups', could 'see' the "cross-correlation" of the 'Question', across/between the various 'Groups'.
Definitely, sadly missed, in the NEW Platform - amongst a number of other things.

Thanks Brett. I am confused. I did join 2 groups, German and Poland, before submitting my question and I did not understand the difference between Q&A and Discussion. Not sure I do yet so I need to research this more to fully understand.

FYI
There has just recently been a "Change", to a NEW "Platform", for the "Community.FamilySearch" Forum.
You are not alone ... we area ALL, 'finding out feet', in this NEW Platform.
Very, quickly; and, basically, as I understand it ...
.
There are, NOW, Three (x3) DIFFERENT areas to post, 'Questions'; or, 'Posts'; or, 'Ideas' (and/or, the like).
𝐐 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐀 ... [ Questions and Answers ]
"Q and A" is an area where Users/Patrons can "Ask" a "Question', hoping for an 'Answer'.
[ You might say 'come and go as you please' ... WITHOUT the need to "Join" a 'Group' ]
𝐆𝐫𝐨𝐮𝐩𝐬
"Groups", are various 'Groups', for likeminded Users/Patrons, where one "Joins", to post 'Questions'; or, 'Posts'; or, just watch the 'banter'.
[ You might say 'come and join in' and, 'stay a while ... ]
𝐈𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐬
"Ideas" is a place for 'Feedback' to 'FamilySearch'
[ ie. more so, Problems/Issues; Enhancement Suggestions/Requests; Dislike; Praise; etc ... ]
.
I hope that helps a little.
In your case, the more appropriate place for your "Request" (ie. for assistance - that being "Translation" of a "Document") was one or both of those aforementioned 'Groups'.
You may have gotten "Lucky", in the "Q and A" area; and, someone was able to help with the 'Translation'; but, most likely NOT.
As I said, very, quick; and, basic ...
I hope this helps.

Thanks again Brett. It helps.
I looked up my question again and I had posted it under the German group under New Discussions, Questions & Answers.
Therefore, I am not sure where things stand now. I'll just wait and see what happens and, if there is no answer, then so be it. I tried.
