Working on Descendants of possible ancestors
I am working on family names in England that are the same as mine but are only possible relatives because that is where my ancestors originated from. The question is can i work on the lines of these possible ancestor's descendants as well when their last names are not the same as mine? Such as possible cousins?

I, too, assume that by "working on" you are referring to work that is part of the process whereby you intend to take these names to the temple.
If, however, you are referring to general research on these individuals, you should feel free to add details to any individual (ID) on Family Tree, regardless of surname or even relationship to yourself. For example, I have worked on many individuals named James Young or John Miller, adding as much detail to their "profiles" as possible, in an effort to show they are clearly individuals "in their own right" and should not be confused, or merged, with anyone with the same name and of similar identity (e.g. born in same area, during same period of time).
As this is a "community" project, anything you add is potentially going to be of use to other users, who themselves might be related to those individuals.
