I'm indexing the above batch of België, Namur—Registres Civils, 1791–1920 [Partie A]; Image Name: 004969808_00420; Batch ID: MSTK-S7T. On Image 1, No. 40, the child's birth (1882) is listed with only the mother's name. However, written on the certificate is a note that the mother married (1886) and the child was then considered legitimate. Is the man listed the actual father of the child and should I index his name as the father or should I just index the original entry with only the mother's name?

It shouldn't matter if the man if the actual father of the child or the adoptive father. We index the most recent parents. The child's and mother's surnames would stay as Herion and the father would be indexed with his given and surname since we don't assume surnames from others mentioned in the document.
