Recently, I began looking at some of the sources I had added to family names years ago. I was surprised to find on some of them an additional different name. I have taken a lot of time and care to try to make my work as accurate as possible, but this leaves my work looking inaccurate and sloppy. Now I am afraid to make up any new sources or to try to correct the ones that have two names. Can anyone help me?

Why don't you have a free virtual strategy session over Zoom with a research specialist? I would choose "Getting Started with FamilySearch" since they are trained in fixing problems with the Tree. Below is the link to reach them. You will get more out of the session if you have a desktop with a web camera; although a laptop, ipad or smart phone can also work.
