How do I index/review Scottish names with Mc or Mac?
I know Scottish names like McNulty do not have a space between Mc and Nulty. However some images show a space between the two. I know names are supposed to be typed as seen. Does that mean I should index "Mc Nulty" as I see it with the space between Mc and Nulty? Thank you for your help on this! I can't find a Helper Resource article on this.
@samshicat here is a link to the Indexing Chat. There are indexers there that can help you.

I know this was answered by John Empoliti over at Indexing Chat. But, just to make sure there is an answer here as well, he wrote:

How do I index a surname with a prefix, like El or Mac?
Article Id: 1286, Published November 23, 2020 It can be difficult to tell whether space exists between a prefix and the last name. Record it either way. The system overlooks spaces, so type what you see.1
