Death of James Briggs (1911-)
James was born in Alberta in 1910 or 1911 and I have found memorials for his brothers at Find A Grave - three are buried at Edmonton, Alberta. The only source I can find for him is a 1916 census record. Any advice on tracing his death would be gratefully received. (I have no experience in research of Canadian records.)

Thank you for the link, Jen.
Update - Unfortunately, death records are only available up to 1970. As it is highly likely he died after that date I will probably have to hope someone (who lives in Canada - hopefully Alberta) can pinpoint an obituary notice (source). However, nothing found for him in the Edmonton Journal obits listing (results for "James Briggs").

He's not listed on the 1921 census with the rest of the family (if I'm looking at the correct family) are you sure he lived to adulthood? He's not listed in any of his families obits (quick glance at Ralph Charles Briggs, Mary Christina Briggs, Charles Briggs who all only list surviving relatives). Maybe relook at the Alberta archives between 1916-1921?
For information in general, you might find information on the family at these sites.....

Thank you for coming back on this, Jen.
I now believe you are probably right, in that he must have died in childhood, but there is no record of his death - at least that is easy to locate! Considering the available records for his immediate family, I am surprised there is not a Find A Grave record, however.
I will check-out the two websites, through the links you have kindly provided.
Thanks again - Paul
