FamilySearch--one family?
I really like the concept. How does it work? I added my GEDCOM file about a month ago. I know someone else has done research on these same people. How are people from different trees combined into one? Are there little helpers behind the scenes looking at each record that comes in and combining individuals? I think I have been spoon-fed leaves in ancestry for too long. There it seems like everyone's tree is individualized. I am old and very confused. Are there videos or classes I need to take that would explain this to me? Thanks for any glimmers...

Does this page help? https://www.familysearch.org/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-copy-information-from-my-gedcom-file-into-family-tree
That page has a section about potential matches. I don't think FamilySearch merges records automatically.
