Collaborate
There are discussions in the collaborate section that are many years old, usually relating to family relationships, that have been resolved in Family Tree. These should be removed but unless you are the person who submitted them you can't remove them. There should be a way to remove these

I believe the current position is the very reason many of us "misuse" the Discussions section! Knowing nobody else can delete what I believe to be a very important comment, I am sometimes inclined to add my comments (e.g. on the "Identity of John Smith") as a Discussion item, rather than as a Note (in Collaboration).
You have correctly identified the problem with this: if another user finds my statement to be completely wrong (perhaps after I am no longer using Family Tree) they cannot delete it. However, you will notice they can enter their remarks immediately below the Discussion item - in the field that appears when clicking on "Add comment". So, at least another user, who has obtained the "true facts" can add a further statement on the identity of "John Smith" - contradicting (or updating) my comments (immediately above).
