I need help reading the first name of this Brunner of Iseltwald who died 22 Nov 1757. Looking at surrounding records hasn't helped much. My guess is Elsi. Here is the url: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:939L-PP6S-7?i=21&wc=M59P-T3F%3A125783201%2C128978801%2C125782803%2C129059101&cc=1640373
Thanks.

Stephen,
I added your query to the discussion on our group page. I cannot read the name but someone is sure to be able to. It does look like Elsi, but I cannot be sure.
I do not have the authority to transfer your Family Search Address so used your email. I hope that is okay.
I hope you get this information soon.

I agree about the name - also read "Elsi".
However, with difficult handwriting it is very useful, occasionally absolutely necessary to see longer text passages, preferrably entire pages of the record in question. Giving the link is therefore a good idea - with a major problem: in this case we have a church record from canton Bern with an URL at familysearch - which I cannot open at home in Switzerland :-(. I have experienced this in many topics here ... is access free from home in the USA - or do people read films and post to the group from History Centres?
If you want to give Swiss residents a chance to view the digitized record, there are two possibilities:
1) Quote the link you find on https://www.query.sta.be.ch/archivplansuche.aspx?id=37 (State Archive Bern - can be accessed from home) or
2) describe the record exactly: parish, book (like baptism 1756-1802), page and date. That would make it not too time consuming to find the corresponding page.
