Update/Replace Memory File Already Uploaded

I would like to have the option to replace a memory file with an updated version without having to delete it... losing all of the tags and text.

My expectation would be that when I upload a file already there, Family Search is already giving me a head's up that I have already uploaded the file. So, you already know that it is a duplicate... ideally, at that point, I would like an option to "replace" the previously uploaded file without losing any of the work done on the file (i.e. tags, text...etc)

Surely this is not a new request

If uploading over a previously uploaded file, all it takes is one pixel to be different to mess things up that have already been tagged, et al.

If I am going to do this, I have to have a very good reason to replace an existing file. It would also mean that the pixel parameters would be different in at least one or more sections of the replacement file. Otherwise, I would have no reason or justification to replace an existing file.
