I have a brother and a sister who are not members of the church. I would love to share with them all
Familysearch is free to everyone. In fact more nonmembers use it than members. Have them register for a free account. Then they add any living to link into the same deceased person you share. Do remember that they will not be able to see your living and you cannot see their living people, those things are kept in a private space. So memories attached to living are not always seen, but they can be see if attached also to a deceased person. Hope this helps.
FamilySearch is for the entire world - not just LDS
Thank you so much!!0
I'm pretty sure that things which you upload to the memories area and do NOT mark as "private" are visible to anyone, even without a Family Search account. Data put into the FamilySearch FamilyTree such as person records, sources, and pedigrees require a person to have a FS account (which is free).
I've not played with it at all myself, but you might only have to provide them with a link to the memories. Someone else here in the community should be able to give you more information on how you can let others see all those photos and stories that you have recorded in the Memories area.
Here's a help article on the subject:
Check out the "From Memories" part of the Website Steps section where it says:
- Sign in to FamilySearch.
- In the menu bar at the top of the screen, click Memories.
- In the drop-down, click Gallery.
- Click the album or memory that you want to share.
- Click Share.
- Select a way to share the memory (Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, WhatsApp, email, or copy link). To copy or email the URL, follow these steps:
- To copy the URL to share, click Copy. You can then paste the URL into an email message.
- To email the URL, above the web address, click Email. This opens your email for you or opens a list of email applications to choose from. When the email opens, it already contains the URL. Add your message, and send it. Depending on your individual computer settings, this might open a new browser window only. In that case, use the copy option instead.
Thank you, Jeff!!0
i love the answers. You can also email memories by clicking on the share button when on the memory.
what I did was create Albums by family and then you can also email the entire album., There is a share button there as well.0
adding to above post. you can create albums from gallery and move photos, documents, etc in and out of the albums from there.0
Thank you,Janet!! Thank you everyone for your responses. I will try them out today.0
Since it hasn't been mentioned yet, when you are inside your memories Gallery, if you like, you can ALSO create a slide show of memories that you select. Apparently you can also send the URL for that slide show out to friends as well.0
That is true - though the "selection" Jeff alludes to - is the formation of a folder ("Album") and then putting the items (images & documents) in the folder.
The slideshow url - is nothing more than a link to the album/folder itself that triggers it to play the slideshow of all the items in the folder.
I am not aware that you can just dynamically create a slideshow on an adhoc basis simply by selecting a few photos and clicking on the slide show option.
The slide show option rather is a function that belongs to the album/folder itself.
Right now there are pretty limited option on the slide show - but I think there are some changes coming.
The use of albums is not required but highly recommended for both organizational / grouping reasons as well as numerous other options
Awesome!! So much to learn!! it is great!!
