I'm looking for help figuring out the true origins of Mary Maud Bobo, M46P-WCR.
I'm very confused. My ancestor, Mary Maud Bobo, February 12, 1883-January 21, 1963 (M46P-WCR) has multiple conflicting pieces of information. At birth her twin's name is listed as Alice, and her parents are Charles and Bertha Bobo. On her marriage certificate, her parents are listed as Moses (KNZM-QR6) and Mary Alice (Vaughn) Bobo (KNW9-HDT), and later her twin as Marion Ella (LWFJ-YGJ), and on her eldest son's birth certificate, her maiden name is listed as Roberts.
I can find a marriage certificate for Moses and Mary Alice, but not birth certificates for either Mary Maud or Marion Alice.
I also cannot find information on Alice Bobo (the twin listed on the birth certificate), or information of Charles (K48X-6ZW) and Bertha (KCQY-DFG).
Her birth is listed as Cleveland Ohio, she moves to Berwick, Iowa and later follows her children to the Ontario area of California.

You may be following two different families. Put the information side by side and see what you have. Try searching with different genealogy sites. The LDS libraries or a library with a genealogy center that will have a library addition of another program. I have found this to be the issue many times in my research.

First, create a separate database, your own personal tree on a site like ancestry or in a program like roostmagic (you can use the free version). Create your tree and add all the sources you can. Find everything you can. Then compare with FS family tree. Go through Recent Changes on all people. As Sandra pointed out families may be mixed. Many users merge people incorrectly and create chaos on family lines. You need to have your own version of the correct facts before you can untangle FS. Good luck.

I can see the Birth/Christening Mary Bobo mother Bertha gather Charles 12 Feb 1883, Cleveland, Cuyahoga, Ohio, that one is listed.
The State of Ohio did not start recording Births and Deaths until 1908, Marriage Records were not kept until 1949. So, your best bet is looking for Church records and cemetery records in Ohio. Iowa, started keeping state records in 1881, so there is a better chance of a record found there.
Have you found the Cemetery records? Where any of them died ? Oh and do you know which "twin" was the oldest?
Also, Moses died at a Poor Farm in Missouri 2 years before his wife died in Iowa? That is suspicious. Could Moses be a Nickname? Have you followed Charles back to see what you can find on him? Looks like I have FAR more questions than I have answers. Thank you for adding the ID numbers for Moses and Mary Alice, that was a great help, though this one is a tough mystery!!

In Archives.com, which is a fee site, I did find a birth record for Moses Bobo son on Mary Ellen Mcvicker and Wm C Bobo, born 5 December 1859 Mason, KY (collection, KY Birth Records 1847-1911). So we have that record located. Then there is a Marriage for him 11 Aug 1882 to Mary Vaughn, in Cuyahoga, OH so we are good there... And a death in Lanagan Missouri, oops that is where the cemetery is. You have all that information so we are correct there.
The difference in parents? I'm thinking you have 2 sets of parents and 2 (3 or 4) different kids... ? Who gave the information to the Minister or Registrar for the Marriage License? If it was another person they could have "adjusted" the names... ? (I am thinking of my grandmother who my dad was sure was born in Goshen Montana... She wasn't she was born in Winger, Minnesota)
Though there is a Mary Bobo born to Charles and Bertha in Cuyahoga, Ohio
Then there is a Marion Ella Bobo born 12 Feb 1883, Cuyahoga OH, Married 14 Oct 1903 Berwick IA, Died 20 July 1951, San Bernardino.. Her parents are listed as Moses Bobo and Mary Alice Vaughn.
Did Moses and Mary Alice have a dissolution of Marriage? In a 1900 Census there is a "Mariam" Bobo, who is listed as a Step-Daughter to the head of household James H Robert and her mother is Mary. They are in Delaware, Polk, Iowa, so I am wondering if that could be correct? She is the only "child" living at the house though she is working as a servant. Again in the 1900 Census there is a Mariam Bobo listed as a boarder born Feb 1883, Single, Born Ohio, Mother and Father are listed as born in Ohio also, this is another Douglas, Polk, Iowa record. Though this could be the same person as you did not have to Reside at the house, if you were there then you were counted when the census taker came, so she could be on two different sheets. The date on the second one is 7 June 1900, the date on the first one I listed is 14 June 1900. On both Census Sheets she lists her parents born in Ohio. She married 3 years later... so... ?
I did find an Alice Bobo born to Charles and Bertha Bobo 12 Feb 1883, Cleveland, Cuyahoga, Ohio (FHL Film number 877903)
OK here we are, Alice and Mary Bobo were born to Charles and Bertha Bobo on 12 Feb 1883 in Cleveland, Cuyahoga, Ohio. We now have that as a fact. Both Birth records are listed in the FHL Film reference number I listed for Alice. So we have Alice and Mary (twins). Then we have Marion Ella who is another child with different parents (Moses and Mary Bobo).
I hope this helps you, it had me questioning everything, including myself!! Let me know if this is all the information you need. I am happy to help you.
