How to edit info found in genealogies
In the genealogies section there is submission MM3C-QW9. In that collection is someone named Franc Markelc, born January 29 1863. I have the birth certificate of my great-great grandfather, Franz Markelc, born January 28 or 29 in 1863/64. Furthermore, the birth certificate I own lists the mother as a Marija Markelc, and no father, just as the collection does. For these reasons, I can only assume that my great great grandfather Franz Markelc and the collection Franc Markelc are the same people. However, if this is the case then the information about the spouse and children of Franc (Franz) Markelc is completely wrong. My great-great grandfather married a Sophia Kapsch, whose parents were Michael Kapsch and Ursula Grill. He had by great-grandfather, Frank Merkelz (name changed after immigrating to Chicago) in 1891. He died a couple years after that I believe. Franz Markelc never married a woman named Alojzija Iljaš around 1900 because he was already dead by then. My great-great grandfather had only 2 children, I don't remember the other childs name but I think it was Johann. I'm not sure but I believe Johann passed away as a kid. My great-grandfather Frank Merkelz married Agnes Wiedemann and had 5 children: Frank, Arthur, Charles, Katherine, and Marie Merkelz. With all that being said, I would like to know if there is any possible way to edit out that false information from my great-great grandfather's record. My family history is very important to me and I want historical information so that in the far future when my descendants are searching info about their ancestors they will not find false information.
Thank you

The purpose of the Genealogies section is for people to upload their files they don't want anyone to change. So no, you can't fix this.
However, go to Family Tree and make sure all the information there is correct. The purpose of Family Tree is to have a spot where all information can be correct, improved and built upon by everyone. There you can freely edit, with supportive sources, everthing.

the genealogies section is for copies of people's "private family trees" - (disjoint from FamilySearch Family Tree) - as such they are not editable by anyone other than the person who submitted them.

Well what we are all saying is that - indeed we want your family tree data to be accurate and complete as possible in the system. We are simply saying the the "Genealogies area" is not really the place to do that - that is for other people's private tree data
BUT you can indeed ensure that your family tree data is complete and accurate in the Family Tree portion of FamilySearch:
at this site: https://www.familysearch.org/tree/pedigree/landscape/G95Y-N8W
Let us know if you need help in updating FamilySearch Family Tree.

FYI
.
Further to what has already been proffered ...
.
Please be aware that ...
.
The GEDCOM Files, that are 'Upload', into the "Genealogies" Part of 'FamilySearch', are 'Static'; that is to say that:
(1) they are NOT part of "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'; and,
(2) they are NOT connected/linked together; and.
(3) they CANNOT be "Edited" (ie. "Changed"); and,
(4) they can ONLY be "Deleted"; and, replaced by an updated version.
.
Basically, GEDCOM Files, that are 'Upload' to the "Genealogies" Part of 'FamilySearch', are for "Research" purposes ONLY - they can just be 'seen', by ALL Users/Patrons - NOTNING else.
.
To be honest, I would NOT worry too much about the "Errors" in the many STANDALONE "Pedigrees" found in the "Genealogies" Part of 'FamilySearch'.
.
They are ONLY a ANOTHER User's/Patron's possibilities/thoughts/research ...
They can be, EITHER, Right/Correct; OR, Wrong/Incorrect ...
They are just a guide, that one needs to consider and research ...
Nothing more, nothing less ...
.
As an aside ...
.
IF, you are really concerned, about a particular "Pedigree", in the "Genealogies" Part of 'FamilySearch'; THEN, you may be lucky; and, be able to 'Send' the "Submitter" of that particular "Pedigree", a 'Message' through "User Messaging" of 'FamilySearch', with you concerns.
.
Just a thought.
