Is there a way to view this image on another platform other than FindMyPast?
Hi there!!
I think I may have found a birth record for my great-grandfather and his brother through FindMyPast. But I noticed that, in order to view the transcript and image, you must have a subscription. Is it possible to view them on a different platform?
My great-grandfather's name is Michael Robinson, born 27 Sept 1884 or 1886
His brother's name is Thomas Robinson, born 1882
Both of them were born in Birmingham, England and their mother's last name Coll (Elizabeth or Bessie)

do you have an ancestry membership?
There is the basic index info on Family search

Sometimes you can find the actual BC or the baptism entry
If you want the actual birth record you can sign onto the GRO
https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/Login.asp#Results
I have ordered the PDF copy of some of my ancestors it is 7GBP but they have a bit more information than the index

Lynda is right. The image you would see on FindMyPast is just an image of the index page. The only way to get the birth certificate with the actual date of birth and place of birth (instead of the quarter when it was registered and the registration district) is to order the certificate from the GRO.
You might be able to find a baptismal record image online but it is not common for the baptismal entry to show the date of birth. You might get lucky though and it might be worth your while to find the baptismal record if you don't want to pay the 7 pounds.

Thank you guys so much for your input and guidance. I'm thinking I may have to order through the GRO. If I do this step, I'll probably be able to navigate through the baptism records with more ease.
