    Hi Shirley,

Go to your profile click edit details where your death date would be and you can edit it there, click living and that should correct your problem. I hope this helps you. 😊

    @ShirleyPeterson4 ShirleyPeterson4

    .

    Shirley

    .

Even though you ask about changing a "Record", you indicate that that "Record" shows you as being "Deceased" ...

    .

    As such ...

    .

It would seem that you are referring to (the record of) an individual/person in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch', rather than a, 'literal' ,"Record" (eg. "Document") from around the World, which 'FamilySearch' contains.

    .

Provided that you are referring to (the record of) an individual/person in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' ...

    .

    Firstly ...

    .

Please make 100% certain that that individual/person in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' that you are 'seeing' IS actually 'You'.

    .

I know it sounds a silly thing to say; but, although, 'You' are unique, your "Name" may certainly NOT be unique; even, for where you live and around that time period. It is surprising, the number of people there are, in the same area, at the same time period, with the same (or, very similar) name as "us", there are all around the World.

    .

    Once you are certain ...

    .

    Secondly ...

    .

IF, it IS 'You'; THEN, the record of that individual/person in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' would have been most likely entered into "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' by ANOTHER User/Patron, who thought that you had died/passed away, for whatever reason.

    .

    We all make mistakes ...

None of us are perfect ...

    .

    DO NOT panic ...

The situation can be addressed/fixed ...

    .

    And ...

    In fact ...

You can be the one that instigates that ...

    .

    Finally ...

    .

For that "Deceased" VERSION of 'You' that you 'see' in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' ...

    .

Go to the "Vitals" Section; and, the Record for "Death" ...

Select that "Blue" Word of "Edit" ... on the 'right-hand-side' ...

Doing so will initiate a "Pop-Up" (ie. "Modal") 'Window' of "Edit Death"

Select the 'Button' for "Living"; enter a "Reason Statement" (eg, as simple as, "I am STILL Living"; or, "I an NOT Dead"); and "Save".

    .

    Edit _ 00.

    Edit _ 01.

That will START the process to "Change" the STATUS from DECEASED to LIVING.

    .

As, that (so-called) "Deceased" individual/person ( VERSION of 'You' ) in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' was most likely entered into "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch' by ANOTHER User/Patron; THEN, what you have STARTED/done is "Trigger" a 'Mechanism' in 'FamilySearch' that indicates there IS be a Problem/Issue that need "Action".

    .

You will be provided with a 'FamilySearch' "Support" Case number, with a 'Message' that 'FamilySearch' will investigate and process your ENRTY to "Change" the STATYS from DECEASED to LIVING.

    .

The "Change" will NOT be immediate; and, may take a day or two.

    .

Provided 'FamilySearch' agrees with you, that you are STILL "Living", which I am certain that they will do ...

    .

Then, that "Deceased" VERSION of 'You' in "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch', that you 'saw', will NO LONGER be 'seen' (ie. visible) by you or any OTHER Users/Patrons; EXCEPT, the User/Patron who originally ENTERED the individual/person into "Family Tree" of 'FamilySearch'; as, the record will be "Moved" into their "Private Spaces"; as, a "Living" individual/person.

    .

Here is a "Knowledge Article" in 'FamilySearch':

    .

How do I change the status from deceased to living in Family Tree?

    https://www.familysearch.org/help/helpcenter/article/how-do-i-change-the-status-from-deceased-to-living-in-family-tree

    .

    I hope this helps.

    .

    Whereas ...

    .

IF, you ARE referring to one of the many, 'literal' ,"Records" (eg. "Documents"), from around the World, which 'FamilySearch' contains; THEN, please advise; as, that is another matter.

How do I change an entry which is wrong. It has me listed twice, but one it says "deceased", and I am not yet!

My name is Shirley Heal Peterson and it is listed as Judd Peterson's wife. But there are two Shirley Peterson's listed, one who has died.
