is He listed with the correct first name in your tree? If you need to change the spelling of his name as it appears in your tree you can do this by going to his “person” screen and selecting “vitals” and then “edit” in the name section... if this isn’t what your looking for please copy/paste the link and we can take a look:)

I corrected the first name for you. This is done by going to the “person” screen and selecting “vitals” and choosing “edit” next to name. https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/LL33-FZF

The name should be indexed as it appears on the record, that cannot be changed. If the name is indexed incorrectly then you may be able to change it on the site. I have found many instances where a name appears slightly different than the way I “know” it should be, or a variation of the name would be used. I usually just go into the “person” screen and select “other” and “add” an A. K. A.

Wait... are you saying your father appears in the FSFT more than once? With 2 different PIDs? ... if that’s the case then the two should be merged using the correct name as the surviving “person”

No. He just has the wrong first name!

Questions:
Where do I find this "index"?
What site do I use to correct this error?
It is not a variation, it is just wrong.
I do not want an AKA associated with him.
Thank you!

I am now unable to find my tree and have not updated it with his name so I don't have a link to post.
His correct name is "Herbert Elliker" (not "Hubert"} born 3/29/1915 at New Glarus , Green, WI.
I really appreciate your help!

@Robert Elliker i understand your frustration and agree it can be very annoying for such an issue to keep repeating ... these are the “Workarounds” that I’m familiar with and I’m happy to share what I know. Perhaps others here may be able to offer additional information. I’m going to share this with the @FamilySearch Family Tree group, perhaps someone there may have better insight. In the meantime I will take a look and see if I can further assist

Due to the nature of your 'Question' ...
.
I am "Moving" this 'Question' of yours, in the 'Group' being "Community.familysearch.org Feedback", in this "Community.FamilySearch" Forum, to the 'Group' being "General Questions", in the Forum; so that, the members of that group can further answer/assist you.
.
That Group is "Public", which you can join, if you wish.
.
As, that 'Group' being "Community.familysearch.org Feedback" relates to 'Feedback' on the "FamilySearch.Community" Forum", rather than for research help/assistance.

I would have liked to see the entry but I'll try to guess. One of the sources may have the incorrect name and the correct name was entered in the Other Information field so the entry will come up with a search for either name.
