You can ask most all your questiions in the single general questions area - if you wish.

Its just that if you want your questions to go to speciifc people specialized in the specific topic - such people would be members of specific group.
BUT You DONT have to join a group - to ask a question in a group.
Anyone can ask a question on any public group - even without formally joining the group.
Also keep in mind this is a Communcity Aare where we ask ask question and others (most of which are fellow users - some with alot of experience) can provide their feedback.
You can easily unjoin any group you may have joined - by clicking the same link that you joined with - that now says "Leave Group" or something similar. (in the upper right hand corner of each group page)
