The easiest way for your stake president to be added to the group is for him to log in to the FamilySearch website and select Indexing from the menu, then Web Indexing from the dropdown menu. This will put him on his personal Web Indexing page and I believe that will add him to the ward and stake groups.

As an administrator you need to know his Contact Name in order to add him. I believe that the Contact Name defaults (until it is changed by the user) to his user name entered twice separated by a space. For example if his username is TheStakePresident, his Contact Name would be TheStakePresident TheStakePresident.

Another group that may be useful in answering questions about the Administration side of things is All Temple & Family History Consultants
