Merging information shown when the FamilySearch HINT is activated in Family Tree Maker.
I have been using FamilySearch for several years but have only recently started using the information given when I use the HINT facility in Family Tree Maker. Is it possible to 'Download' or extract in some way the information given when using the HINT? It is very time consuming trying to extract the names and details so as to incorporate them into my tree. Regards

Try posting your question on "FamilySearch Tips & Tricks", or "How Things Work" Communities. Also, it might be helpful to post in the group community location your family member lived. There are many who know the exact steps to attach a document in a hint to your family member. Good Luck, Pam Whicker

The Application Programmers Interface (API) that you talk to the FSFT from Family Tree Maker through is built around the structure of the tree and information in it. However, hints provided in the FSFT are proprietary to the structure of the historic records area of family search, and as such was probably not considered for addition to the API as an exception. For those same reasons I doubt that pushing hints information through the API will ever be supported.
You might try this approach though. Use the hints information to first update the data within the FSFT itself, and THEN transfer the person record data to Family Tree Maker.

Thank you for your suggestions. I have implemented Pamela's suggestions. I am afraid that your suggestion, Jeff, is way over my head, but thank you all the same. Regards James

Sorry 'bout that!
I was basically just saying that you cannot download details of hint information the way you were suggesting, and it is pretty unlikely that FS will ever provide such a feature.
So do all your work related to searching for and attaching hints from inside your FS account. Then transfer all the information that you want from the FSFT over to Family Tree Maker using their tools.
Good luck with that!
