Why do Messages and Notifications have the same items?

It is redundant and time consuming to have to clear something twice so that the red dot goes away. If they are always going to log the same thing then get rid of one of them.

Notifications are: Discoveries, General, Tree, Temple

Notifications are singular direction from FamilySearch to a user.
