Probable BUG: Historical records:Catalog page does not show where microfilms may be viewed.

Usually the Catalog page for a record set shows where the microfilm of the records may be viewed, even if sometimes the only place is the Family History Library in Salt Lake City. This usually appears under the heading "Location"

I have come across two records where the section "Location" is completely missing. I believe this is the first time I have seen this.

https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/204135

"Extracts from St. Andrew's Outlook, quarterly messenger of the Presbyterian Churches in Malaya, Sumatra, Burma and Siam : marriages and deaths, March 1914 - July 1951"

This microfilm has been digitised, and to me shows the message "Access the site at a family history center. Access the site at a FamilySearch affiliate library"

https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/265600

"Extracts from Scots Kirk', the church magazine of the Presbyterian Church in Signal Pagoda Road, Rangoon, Burma : baptisms, marriages and deaths, June 1930-June 1941"

This microfilm has not yet been digitised.

The following record displayed as usual https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/81844

Using iMac and Safari as the browser. Same with Chrome.

    .

    Maybe it is me ...

    But ...

    .

Personally, I do not see a "Bug" (ie. issue/problem) with either ...

    .

For the FIRST one, when you select that "Camera", WITH "Key", Icon, you get this:

    .

    image

    [ Self Explanatory ]

    .

For the SECOND one, the Record states that the 'Location' is the "Granite Mountain Record Vault".

    .

    ie.

    .

NOT (even) at the "Family History Library" (FHL), of the Church, in 'Temple Square' in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA); and, there is NO "DGS" number; so, the Film appears NOT even to have been "Digitised".

    .

    image.

    Just my thoughts.

Maybe this was a temporary problem as, like Brett, I can see the Location field and entries. Windows10 & Firefox.

imageimageThe first screen shot shows what I can see in what I regard as the "normal format" (3rd example in my original post) You can see there is a section which has Location with a drop down menu showing where the microfilm may be viewed, which is at four different locations. Also in this same screen shot there is the wording Location under Film/ Digital Notes which says Family History Library and when you click on that you click through to "Find a Family History Center and FamilySearch Affiliate Libraries", showing  search for 1547178 and showing Family History Library only.  I have no idea what the number represents, as it appears to be neither the microfilm number or the DGS number.

With the second screen shot, from the first catalog record in my original post, there is no Location box with a drop down menu, as in the first screen shot.

Under the Film/Digital Notes there is also a heading Location, which if you click on you get the same "Find a Family History Center and FamilySearch Affiliate Libraries", showing  search for 1547178 and showing Family History Library only. Again I have no idea what the number represents, as it appears to be neither the microfilm number or the DGS number.

I find this all very confusing, but perhaps to others it is clear.

    .

Again, maybe it is me ...

    But ...

    .

Your first "Image" indicates that there IS a "Copy" of the Film available to physically access/view at the "Family History Library" (FHL), of the Church, in 'Temple Square' in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA; and, that the Film has been "Digitised"; as, there is a "DGS" number; BUT, the "Image" is NOT accessible to access/view 'On-Line' (anywhere) - in this case ONLY a "Film Reel", Icon.

    .

    Whereas,

    .

Your second "Image" indicates that there is a "Copy" of the Film available to physically access/view at the "Family History Library" (FHL), of the Church, in 'Temple Square' in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA, ); and, that the Film has been "Digitised"; as, there is a "DGS" number; PLUS, that the "Image" IS accessible to access/view, WITH 'Restrictions", 'On-Line', which may be only at the FHL; and/or, also possibly, a "Family History Centre" of the Church, around the World (or, sometimes, an "Affiliate" Library, around the World), depending what appears when you select the "Format" - in this case a "Camera", WITH "Key", Icon.

    .

    Just my thoughts.

How can you see if your access is limited? Or you just see blank or don't see other items in Catalogue.

I see many possible problems with Catalogue in Russian. Should I report them to Support? Or I assume it will all come together once indexing is done

Each Catalogue page, at the bottom, has  a clickable box  saying  (in the English version) Errors?

If you see a Catalogue error, you can report it through that link which is sent to the Catalogue team.

The following FamilySearch article has details about the icons shown on a catalogue page to indicate the viewing conditions
